CONFIGURATION GUIDE
If you are newbie or you want to know fully on how to setup internet on mtn network, just follow the below tutorial to learn it fast.
HOW TO SET-UP AN INTERNET
Basically, there are two methods in setting up an internet.
The Automatic method and the Manual. In this tutorial, i will enlight you to both automatic and manual internet setup on all nework.
Let get start from;
AUTOMATIC INTERNET SETUP
The easiest way to set up your phone internet/wap service is by using the automatic configuration. It is very easy and quickest method to setup internet and start surfing the net. In This method, configuration is done through the creating of sms and send it to a number presented by our network providers. For instance, mtn automatic configuration is as follow:
1. In an sms, write/type SETTINGS and send it to 3888. Wait, for the setting to arrive
2. Save it
3. Set it as default
Done, now you can start surfing the net!
( this doesnt work on some phones, esp. Chaina phones)
MANUAL INTERNET SETUP
The mtn manual network setup is divided into two parts
let name the first one
MANUAL CONFIGURATION; using PROV FILES
* Prov files are configuration files with .prov extension that allow conectivity process (to the internet)
* After you have create one, send it using blueftp to another phone
* Then send it back to your phone using normal phone's bluetooth
** your phone will recieve it as new internet setup, save and set as default,
Now, you can surf the net**
(this work perfectly on most phones, esp. S40 nokia phones and few chaina phones)
MANUAL INTERNET SETUP; by creation of new INTERNET PROFILE manually from phone
Another mean of setting up an internet on phone is by doing all the setup processes manually, befor you can do this, you need to understand the kind of phone you are holding. For instance, you need to know where to create new configuration setup (internet profile). For some phone its an option under setting at the menu, while most chaina phones its under wap/internet service
after that. No need to stress yourself, go to its proxy/ip address, insert the proxy (depending on network) and below it is where to insert its port. Add its port
2. Now, search for data account, always below internet or wap service, while some phone at the connetivity(ies) under settings via menu. Open it, create new profile or edit any one of them. And choose the access point of the network you are configuring..
Set it as default and thats all.
